Erin's Birthday

To day is Erin's eighteenth Birthday!!!
Erin and Rachel have this joke going, where, even though they are twins, they say: "On my birthday..." So that is why I did separate posts and Erin is born thirty seconds after Rachel so her post is later.
One of the many things that I love about Erin is how she can make me laugh with an unexpected and witty joke. She's also one of the few people that I can just tell my deepest secrets and she wont laugh at me. I also really love her food (it's awesome!) She's always up for a party and is the one who always comes prepared to make people laugh and have a great time.
Erin is a hard worker and a perfectionist so she has taken on the those annoying things around the house that everyone tries to forget have to be done. She's great.
I thank God for blessing me with Erin's grin, her laugh, and her steadiness.

Happy Birthday Erin.

Rachel's Birthday

To day is Rachel's eighteenth birthday!!!

I've really enjoyed getting to see her turn into a wonderfully young lady and I'm so happy to be her sister.
In my family, we have a tradition of telling one of the MANY things that we love about a person on her birthday.
I guess I'd have to say that one of the many things that I love about Rachel would be that she just has this simple way of making me laugh with the little things she does without realizing it. Then, when she sees me laughing at her, she'll realize what she did and start laughing to. Even if someone picks on her, she's usually willing to just laugh it off. She's always wearing a smile, and even if she loves to have fun and party, she is always ready for a hard day of work.

I love you Rach.

My Little Bro.

My little brother Michael is so cute! He also loves food. We were watching a cooking show one night right after dinner and he kept saying: "Wow. That looks good. Can we make that mommy?" or "Is it snack time yet." And Mommy would have to say: "No Micheal. We just had dinner."

The other day, Micheal was in the pool. Mommy told him that it was starting to get to cold to swim soon so we'll have to take down the pool soon. Micheal likes to make everything into a party, so he came up with a plan which, naturally, involved food.

Here's how Micheal's plan went:
"OK, we'll have breakfast, then we'll start draining the pool. Next we'll stop for a snack and watch the pool drain for a while. Then we'll have lunch and drain the pool some more. For snack we'll have ice cream and finish draining the pool. Then we'll bring over the picnic-table and sit out here for dinner while the pool dries."

He has such a kind heart too.
We have a sick chicken that we think had a stroke so she can't move. Every time that I look outside, Micheal is feeding, petting, or protecting it. He builds little fences around her to keep the other chickens from walking on her or taking her food. Bless his heart, I love him to death.

Congratulations!

I just wanted to tell you that my really good friend Eden won third place in her local Bible Bee competition this year!

Although she did not make it to the National Competition this year, she worked really hard learned a lot of scripture and studied a whole book of the Bible! She devoted her whole summer to this!

Be sure to have everyone in your family leave a comment on her blog telling her: "Congratulations!!!" for what she did.  Not many people have entered in a Bible Bee competition.

Sweet

I took this picture while Jamie was filming her movie (that's why Rach is wearing glasses -she doesn't normally.)
Both Jamie and Rach look good in all those colors which is why they don't clash in the picture.

Pooh Bear Moment

Everyone needs a good Pooh Bear moment.

I was reading some Pooh poems to Michael today. He would just sit there and listen with this delighted little smile on his face. Then I would flip through the book and he would pick a poem and ask me to read it.

We really like the "Knight Who's Armor Didn't Squeak" and "The Friend"

The Friend

There are lots and lots of people who are always asking things,
Like Dates and Pounds-and-ounces and the names of funny Kings,
And the answer's either Sixpence A Hundred Inches Long,
And I know they'll think me silly if I get the answer wrong.

So Pooh and I go whispering, and Pooh looks very bright,
And says, "Well, I say sixpence, but I don't suppose I'm right."
And then it doesn't matter what the answer ought to be,
'Cos if he's right, I'm Right, and if he's wrong,
it isn't me.

But this one was my defiant favorite.

Sneezles

Christopher Robin had wheezles and sneezles,
they bundled him into his bed.
They gave him what goes with a cold in the nose and some more for
a cold in the head.
They wondered if wheezles could turn into measles,
if sneezles would turn into mumps;

They examined his chest for a rash, and the rest of his body for swellings and lumps.
They sent for some doctors in sneezles and wheezles to tell them what ought to bed done.

All sorts of conditions of famous physicians came hurrying round at a run.
They all made a note of the state of his throat,
they asked if he suffered from thirst;
they asked if the sneezles came after the wheezles,
or if the first sneezle came first.

They said, "If you teazle a sneazle or wheezle,
a measle may easily grow.
But humor or pleazle the wheezle or sneezle,
the measle will certainly go."
They expounded the reazles for sneezles and wheezles,
the manner of meales when new.
They said, "If he freezles in draughts and in breezles,
then phtheezles may even ensue."

Christopher Robin got up in the morning,
the sneezles had vanished away.
And the look in his eye seemed to say to the sky,
"Now, how to amuse them today?"
No one is ever too old for Pooh Bear.
We still laugh about Pooh a lot of times. Michael loves to watch it still and he just giggles.
