The Lees

Sorry that I haven't done a post in so long but we have been helping our friends who just lost their father in the bad tornado.

The Lee family is such a blessing to our family.
After loosing their father in the storm they are still as faithful to GOD in all that they do and say.
I thank God every day for sending the Lees into our life.
They are such a wonderful example of a good family.

May God bless this wonderful family.

Kings Play Chess On Fine Glass Sets.

I should have probably done this post a while ago but no matter.
Kings Play Chess On Fine Glass Sets.
What in the world?
Well the first letters in each of those words stand for an other word. The words: Kingdom,
Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus and Species.
Each of these different words has a different purpose and if you wont to be a zoo keeper of a scientist or any other job that you need to know about animals this is the first thing you need to learn
Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus and Species.
Well we are doing birds right now so naturally so let's just pick a bird like the Black Necked Swan. They would be in the Kingdom Animaliea . That is quite a mouthful.
Next it would go in to the Phylum Chordata witch basically means "with a backbone". So birds have a back bone.

Next, Class Aves . Don't ask me what it means I haven't found that out, but I will tell you as soon as I do. But I think that it might be the Latin word for bird.
ODER. This divides up song birds, birds of prey, birds of the water and so on. And because we are doing The Black Necked Swan that would go into the Order of Water Birds.
Family. The B. N. Swan would be in the family of Swans. This is cutting the field down quite a bit.

Genus. That divides the Black Necked Swan from the Trumpeter Swan.
Then last, Spices. And that is wear the Black Necked Swan belongs.

Egyptain Coursers

The Egyptian Coursers is like a Niel Crocodile's dentist. This odd little bird keeps the crocodile's teeth all clean and shinny and in return the courser gets a free meal. This system works out splendidly for all concerned.
When this was first seen it was past off as consents but then as it was seen to be extremely common it was realized that the Courser really did clean the crocodiles teeth.
Using it's long legs the Coursers rest on the crocodiles mouth.
As you doubtless know, Egypt is extremely hot, so how do Coursers survive?
Well GOD gave them the remarkably instinct to keep their eggs safe and cool.
The Courser buries it's in the sane and then throws water up on to the sand that covers the eggs to keep them cool.
Neat?!?!

Feather Color

So how do birds get their colors?
Well there are many ways that birds get their colors.
The first is: The pigments that give a animal or person their color. So some birds get their color from Pigments. There are some animals with no pigments and so they are white and their eyes are red.
Their eyes are red because of having no pigments the light reflex off of their eyes turning them red.
The second way is what they eat. Pink Flamingos eat a lot of Plankton that gives them their pink color.
The third way is reflection. For instants: A Peacock gets all it's bright coloring form how the light reflex off of their feathers. -A Humming Bird's feathers also reflect.
A Blue Jay's feathers are the same way. If you where to crush up a Blue Jay's feather it would be white. That is because the feather only turns pink if the feather is all together.
And so that is a little on feathers.

Peregrine Falcon !!!

The Peregrine Falcon is a sandy brown with black wings and markings, and a touch of yellow. It's a big bird even for a bird of prey and is 15 to 21 inches.
The Peregrine Falcon doesn't really ever talk in it's ruff cackling voice. Only when it's in it's nest. Other wise it prefers to go quietly along on it's silent wings.
The Peregrine lives in open places beside streams lakes and rivers.
It lives a lot on the coast line of America from Virgina to Texas. An then from all over Alaska down along the coast of Canada down to California. It all so makes a line from Montana down to New Mexico.

Peregrine Falcons are known for making good hunting pets. Not so much anymore but they where used a lot by knights when they would go hunting .
Once in 1595 the king of England lost his beloved Peregrine Falcon. Because it was the king's everyone was looking for it.
But because his Falcon was tagged (he tagged all his favorite birds) his Peregrine falcon was finally found 1,300 miles away in a little island called Malta.

Puple Gallinule

The Purple Gallinule is about the size of a chicken and brightly colored and likes freshwater with lilies, pickerel weed and other vegetation.
It lays 6-8 pinkish eggs with dark spots on a clump of grass or over the water.
The Purple Gallinule lives in Texas, Florida, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
(You can see it's large feet.)
As the Purple Gallinule swim or flies it will jerk its head from side to side. When in the water it walks on the lily pads. The Purple Gallinule doesn't fly at an extremely fast pace but it has been seen as far as California, Southern Canada, Bermuda and South Africa.

The Snowy Owl

Sorry I haven't done a bird post in so long!
The Snowy Owl seems to like places like fields or other open places. It never roosts in trees, only on the ground or on rooftops.
It lives in Alaska and Canada and goes a little ways "down south" for the winter during which (or so I've read) they like to stay at airports. (Don't ask me about that. I am not the one who decides things like that.)
I'm not real sure how big they are, only that they are big and are white with dark spots.
The females usually have more markings then the males.

(Great markings display!)
The Snowy Owls lay about 5-8 white eggs.
